2026年已经过去四个月，Global Poker Index Player of the Year积分榜的竞争格局正逐渐清晰。尽管距离2026年GPI年度最佳牌手最终揭晓还有大量比赛要打，但PokerNews决定回顾历史，看看过去几位POY冠军是凭借怎样的成绩登上年度榜首。
上个月，我们回顾了2012年至2016年的获奖者。今天，焦点落在2017年至2021年。Adrian Mateos和Alex Foxen等明星牌手先后登顶，而全球疫情与线下扑克停摆也曾彻底改写竞争版图。
2017：Mateos力压Kenney登顶
2017年的GPI Player of the Year争夺一直持续到最后时刻，西班牙超级明星Adrian Mateos以极其微弱的优势击败Bryn Kenney。所有成绩统计完成后，Mateos仅以26.65个积分的优势加冕POY。

Mateos在2017年开局便于$5,300 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Main Event深度晋级，打入最后两桌。2月，他又在World Poker Tour WPT L.A. Poker Classic的一场边赛中获得第四名；3月，则在一场$25,000 Aria High Roller中拿到亚军，收获$186,000。
同样在3月，Mateos在PokerStars Championship Panama三次进入奖励圈，随后返回美国参加Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown，并在$50,000 Super High Roller中获得亚军，带走$413,567。
仅仅一个月后，这位西班牙名将又在PokerStars Championship Monte-Carlo的一场€50,000边赛中夺冠，拿下€908,000。此后他全年继续斩获多个六位数奖金，其中包括在WSOP的$10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Heads-Up Championship夺冠，奖金$336,656。
除了奖金，这场胜利还让Mateos拿下个人第三条金手链，并以22岁的年龄成为史上最年轻的三金手链得主。
10月，Mateos前往澳门参加Triton Poker Super High Roller Series，并在Main Event中取得第四名，收入HK$6,950,000（$890,084）。
在2017年结束前，Mateos又拿下8笔超过$100,000的奖金，最终成功阻止Kenney问鼎POY。
2018：Foxen突破4,000分大关

Alex Foxen在2018年共计24次进入奖励圈，其中包括5次夺冠。他的首冠出现在2月的WPT L.A. Poker Classic，当时他拿下$25,000 High Roller冠军，赢得$424,625。不到一个月后，Foxen前往澳门，又在Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Macau Super High Roller中夺冠，奖金折合$963,880。
Foxen的第三场胜利出现在6月拉斯维加斯Venetian举行的$5,000 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT)赛事，他击败178人的参赛阵容，带走$239,000。
虽然Foxen在2018年WSOP表现一般，仅有两次进入奖励圈，但他随后在2018 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open重返胜轨，在一场买入$2,650的赛事中夺冠，收入$208,452，并在单挑中击败了自己的妻子Kristen Foxen。
两周后，Foxen又在EPT Barcelona的一场€50,000 High Roller获得第三名，并在另一场€25,000 High Roller取得第四名，合计进账€582,230。
10月，Foxen在英国举行的£5,300 partypoker MILLIONS赛事中获得亚军，在与冠军Ioannis Angelou-Konstas达成单挑协议后，收获£720,000（$937,706）。
Foxen以强势表现结束2018年。他在拉斯维加斯WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic上三次打入前四，其中包括在一场$5,200边赛中夺冠，赢得$246,768。随后，他又在PokerGO Studio举行的$300,000 Super High Roller Bowl中获得亚军，收获高达$2,160,000，为这一辉煌赛季画上句号。

2019年，Foxen成为首位连续两年获得GPI POY的选手。延续2018年底的火热状态后，Foxen在2019年1月的PCA中三次进入奖励圈，其中包括一次夺冠，单月便收获$904,040奖金。
4月，他在Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown中分别拿到$180,000和$545,000奖金；同月在EPT Monte Carlo又进账€155,440和€610,550。
Foxen在2018 WSOP共10次进入奖励圈，其中包括Main Event第40名，奖金为$211,945。
他在2019年的首个冠军出现在10月佛罗里达举行的WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble $20,000 High Roller，奖金$182,440。年内第二冠直到赛季尾声才到来：12月，他在WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic共5次打进奖励圈，并最终拿下$10,400 Main Event冠军，收获$1,694,995；值得一提的是，他曾在2017年的同一赛事中获得亚军。
2020：COVID-19打乱积分格局

2020年，全球COVID-19疫情严重冲击GPI排名体系。各国政府实施封锁措施，线下扑克进入前所未有的停摆期。不过，在大规模停赛到来之前，来自Georgia的Giorgiy Skhulukhiya先拿下一场冠军，随后又利用俄罗斯下半年相对宽松的线下环境继续累积成绩。
Skhulukhiya在1月于Cyprus举行的Merit Poker Western $5,000 Main Event中夺冠，收获$220,643；2月又在Belarus拿到几笔奖励圈成绩。同月，他还在€3,300 WPT Germany Main Event中获得第16名，之后全球疫情全面爆发。
到了8月，部分地区的线下扑克开始回归。俄罗斯Sochi重新开放赛场，Skhulukhiya在8月6日至12月22日期间又累积12次进入奖励圈。其中最大的一笔来自Sochi Poker Festival Super High Roller冠军，奖金为$50,571。
Skhulukhiya在2020年总共赢得$353,163，这也是GPI年度最佳牌手历史上最低的年度奖金总额，并创下了一项几乎不太可能再被打破的特殊纪录。
2021：线下扑克回归，Imsirovic登顶

2021年前几个月，线下扑克在限制措施下逐步回归，Ali Imsirovic迅速重返赛场，并在年底前累积现场锦标赛奖金$6,094,964，这既是他当时、也是至今为止最出色的现场赛年度表现。
2月，Imsirovic在拉斯维加斯两夺PokerGO Tour赛事冠军，总奖金达到$530,170。虽然这两场比赛的参赛人数都只有14人，但正如常言所说，你只能击败坐在你面前的对手。
4月，Imsirovic再次在PokerGO Tour上交出亮眼成绩：他赢下两场$25,000赛事，并在一场$10,000赛事中获得亚军，合计收入$721,300。
5月，这位波黑选手又在Venetian Las Vegas的一场$10,000赛事中夺冠，再添$200,200奖金；6月，他又拿下另一场$10,000 PokerGO Tour冠军，收入$217,800。7月，他在PokerGO Tour再获两冠外加一次第五名，总计斩获$545,500。
8月至10月间，Imsirovic又赢下4场PokerGO Tour赛事，并在另外4场比赛中闯入决赛桌，其中最高单笔奖金达到$529,000。
10月，Imsirovic在一场$5,200线上赛事中拿下一枚WSOP Circuit ring。11月，他继续在PokerGO Tour统治赛场，再添一个冠军和两个决赛桌席位。随后，他又在延期举行的2021 WSOP拉斯维加斯一场$50,000 High Roller中获得第六名，奖金$278,840。
随着2021年接近尾声，Imsirovic又在WPT Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open的$25,500 High Roller中夺冠，收入$695,355，为这个令人印象深刻的赛季画上完美句号。
